Low taxes and spending discipline: Swiss public finances healthy
Unlike most European countries, especially Italy and France, in Switzerland taxes are low and public finances viable into the future. This is the conclusion of the latest BAK study on the sustainability of fiscal policy. The cantons therefore have the necessary fiscal leeway to offer a tax burden that is attractive by international standards over the longer term.
