Due to the direct restrictions, trade, transport, gastronomy and hotel industry as well as cultural and creative industries are particularly affected. Covid-19's impact - analysed by BAK
In various commissioned studies, BAK Economics has developed analytical approaches for the effects of Corona on the economy. For example, conclusions on the resilience of economic areas were drawn on the basis of an ex-post study, or differences in the sector structure were illuminated. For example, the sectoral structure of a regional economy is decisive for the scope of the consequences of a lockdown. In addition, BAK Economics, in cooperation with various institutions, surveyed regional companies on their current situation. The results of the survey serve, among other things, to create a benchmark that can be used to analyse future challenges.
For example, BAK Economics analysed the regional economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 for the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region (FVG) in comparison with 16 regions. The study analyses the potential economic impact of the pandemic for Friuli-Venezia-Giulia in the three dimensions: Exposure, Economic Affectedness and Resilience.
